Water is worth a million Gareth Bales
A nature index put together by BBC Earth has found that, when it comes to value to the planet, Gareth Bales doesn't break any records. According to the index, water, the most valuable thing on the index valued at a whopping 46 trillion pounds, is worth 980,000 times as much as the Welsh football player.

BESAFE (Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services: Arguments for our Future Environment) recently produced a report on how we can use the value of nature to argue more effectively for conserving biodiversity. RCUK / Innovate UK Urban Living Partnership - call for pilot phase
Combined funding of £2m is available from Research Councils UK (RCUK) and Innovate UK for a pilot call, to be distributed between up to five projects each focused on a different city or urban area.
