National Capital Initiative Summit 2019

Valuing our Life Support Systems 2019 offers an independent platform for people in science and policy, NGOs, businesses and local communities to discuss and debate innovative natural capital solutions that enhance the environment and strengthen society. This is your chance to share what you know about the latest developments in natural capital science, policy and practice – and find out what you don’t.
Our summit builds on two influential NCI summits in 2014 and 2009, which helped to shape natural capital thinking in the UK. We will reflect on the past 10 years of natural capital thinking and doing, but also look ahead at current themes that can capture our imagination and create real change in the natural, rural and urban environments.

We now invite proposals for sessions, speed talks and posters under these themes:
- New frontiers in natural capital data and methods
- Governance and institutions for implementing natural capital solutions
- Urban health and wellbeing
- Sustainable land and water management
- Sustainable marine planning
During two days of informative talks, interactive workshops and challenging Q&As, we will create genuine dialogue between people from different sectors and backgrounds in natural capital. Our summit offers ample opportunities to network with inspiring and influential people in the natural capital community.
