The Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) has an call for experts to help scope a set of regional and sub-regional assessments and experts needed to scope a thematic assessment of land degradation and restoration – deadline 25 June 2014.
The call for experts:
- Experts to scope a set of regional and sub-regional assessments, for consideration by the IPBES Plenary in January 2015.
- Expert group to scope a thematic assessment of land degradation and restoration for consideration by the IPBES Plenary in January 2015.

What is IPBES?
The Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) was established by an intergovernmental meeting in Panama City, Panama on 21 April 2012 with the objective of strengthening the science-policy interface for biodiversity and ecosystem services for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, long-term human wellbeing and sustainable development.
