15 Sep 2015

The UK Network of Environmental Economists will hold its annual Applied Environmental Economics conference on Friday, 18th March 2016 at The Royal Society in London. Abstracts are now being selected for presentation.

This one-day conference, now in its 14th year, brings together environmental economists from public and private sectors, academia and consultancy to share results of recent research and to discuss issues relevant to the practical application of environmental economics in the UK, Europe and elsewhere. Papers that have policy relevance and have been used in decision-making by the public and/or private sectors will be of particular interest. The deadline for the submission of abstracts is Friday, 27th November 2015.

Further details about the Call, including suggested themes, are available now online. For more information, go to UKNEE’s envecon page or follow us on twitter @_UKNEE.

This blog was created as part of the original Valuing Nature Network (2011-2014)

Last week I had a great trip to Bangor in North Wales for the Network of European Environment and Sustainable Development Advisory Councils (EEAC) Conference. I was there to talk about the Valuing Nature Network and you can see me talking here.

But while I was there, I thought I would listen the talks on the National Ecosystem Assessment. Roy Haines-Young is obviously a Dr Who fan.....apparently the 'scenarios' from the National Ecosystem Assessment are also time machines, just like the tardis, which can take you to some suprising places. To find out what these scenarios are about, you can watch Roy's talk here.
