IPBES Webinar on conceptualisations of value - 9 August

Tuesday, 9th August 2016

The Intergovernmental Panel of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) is running the IPBES Webinar Series for those wanting to learn more about the work of the Platform.

The fourth webinar in this series is scheduled for 9 August from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. CEST. Professor Patricia Balvanera, Coordinating Lead Author of Chapters I and II of the IPBES Values Guide, will present the major concepts of the Guide relating to varied conceptualizations of value, as well as offering perspectives on the step-by-step approach that it proposes. The webinar will be mainly aimed at the authors of the regional and thematic IPBES assessments, and those involved in any step of the production of the assessments (experts, reviewers, collaborators and TSUs). The presentation will also be relevant for those interested in understanding the IPBES approach on diverse values and those working with topics related to ecosystem services and valuation processes.

The webinar will conclude with a Q&A session. Should you already have questions you would like answered in relation to the IPBES Values Guide, please submit them via email to tsu.capacitybuilding@ipbes.net or through the registration form.

Recordings of all webinars in the series will be made available on http://www.ipbes.net/webinars, and form a part of a collection of electronic capacity-building resources that will become a valuable tool for building capacities in the future.
